Sacred Body Wash
Throughout time the act of washing has formed part of sacred and tender ceremony. From the newborn baby, to the wise elder, cleansing and washing marks endings and beginnings. Many families I have worked with have said how healing it has been for them to be able to wash the body of a loved one after death. The washing of face, shoulders, hands and feet can be deeply ceremonial and deeply symbolic. It is a heartfelt expression of love, and with time becomes a memory of infinite sadness woven with infinite love.
This bodywash is made with manuka and lavender hydrosols, frankincense and sage essential oils; and basil, iris and kawakawa plant essences.
To use: pour the bottle of body wash into a basin of warm water. Dip a soft cloth or flannel into the basin and then gently cleanse your loved one. It may also be nice to read this blessing as the washing takes place download here.
