I Look Up and There I Am

$275.00

Acrylic on board
20cm diameter

Up until around the 1600s we were seen in the context of our relationship with Nature, Spirit and Cosmos. People such as the 16th Century physician, alchemist and philosopher, Paracelsus, said "to be a physician, one must first know the stars". We would be prescribed herbs and therapies according to the way were were writing astrologically across the sky. It was an accepted fact that we, and everything around us is made 'of stardust'.

I find great comfort in this. It keep me connected to the world around me, and helps me find meaning, and context, and hope even in moments when it could be all hope is lost.

Each night before I go to bed I step outside with my dog and look up at the night sky. And when I look up... there I am.
